While lacking in other genres, space shooters is something the Playstation 1 did suprising well. R-Type Delta is another great PS1 space shooter and really shows what the system is capable of. The 3D objects in a 2D scenerio works very well with space shooters and R-Type Delta looks beautiful, has a great soundtrack and has extremely tight controls.

C: The Contra Adventure is a game that just feels slightly off. It's like they wanted to upgrade Contra graphically, but completely forgot what brought it to the game. The controls just don't feel right, like something is missing. I don't understand why they added blocky polygon graphics for a side-scrolling run and gun game.
